Pass Creek Peak
Pass Creek Peak
Elevation 7900'
Pass Creek Peak is a lesser known peak in the foothills on the west side of Central Idaho’s White Cloud Range. The shortest access to this peak is from a wide spot on Fourth of July Road, just under four miles from highway 75. The peak itself isn’t impressive, but the views of the Sawtooths and surrounding White Clouds make it worth a quick stop if you have a little time to kill.
After a fun climb of Six Lakes Peak earlier in the day, I was camping nearby before another climb the next day. So with a little time to myself, I had scouted out a quick climb of this little mountain I nicknamed “Pass Creek Peak”.
I parked at around 7400’, and then hiked due north, hopping over a little irrigation canal not far from the road. Once at the little saddle east of the summit, I just followed the fence line to the highpoint. There were various hunters nearby, so I stayed on the backside of the ridge to keep my silhouette from being a target. Once on top, I enjoyed the views for a while before retracing my path back to the car.
