Summit Peak is located on the eastern edge for the Boulder Mountains, just above Trail Creek Summit. It’s a short climb, and not too brushy. Just a mile round trip, or a more sporting 2 mile loop if you choose. Great views either way.

I was passing through on the way to other adventures, and stopped for this peak along the way. After parking at Trail Creek Summit, I wandered off into the trees to the west.

After a bit of climbing, I crested the south ridge of the peak.

Wildflowers on the way up the ridge.

Soon enough, I was getting above the trees and enjoyed some good views along the way.

Great views from the summit, including this one looking west into the Boulders.

View down Trail Creek, with Rock Roll Peak on the right.

And finally, a view into Summit Creek, with a rainbow over the Devils Bedstead.

Map of my route. Round trip was around 2.5 miles and 1200' of elevation gain in about 90 minutes. A short out and back from the road is ~ 1 miles and 1k gain.
